Step-by-Step Admissions 1 - Gather the Documents Review our Admissions Policy Prepare the following documents*: Academic Records for applicants for Grade 1 – 12 Proof of payment of the application fee of 30,000 JPY A scan of the student’s passport or birth certificate for verification of birth date Photo of the student and guardian(s) A guarantee letter from your company if it is paying the school fees and tuition Individualized learning plan (ILP) or any other supporting documents, if any. 2 - Submit your Application Form Submit your online application here . Horizon Japan International School is a not-for-profit educational institution that relies entirely on school fees to cover operating expenses. The school is subject not only to the cost pressures of operating in Japan but also to competitive forces in the wider international schools market. Tuition fees are reviewed annually and are subject to change. The School reserves the right to review and adjust the fees at any time without prior notice. Also, financial donations and/or other fundraising initiatives that help enhance school programs are gratefully accepted. Scholarships are granted to students whose parents are employed by companies that join our Corporate Contribution Plan. Please contact the Business Office for further information. TUITION PAYMENT FEES DOWNLOAD TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR 2026-2027 Bank Account Details Please make sure all payments include the full name of each student and/or the invoice reference number to ensure payments are properly credited to the designated student. (Please note that all bank transaction fees and charges are the responsibility of the individual or company transferring the funds.) This fee assists in covering costs associated with the application process and testing. This payment may be done by credit card through our online admissions portal or bank transfer. Applications cannot be considered until payment has been received. The Registration Fee is a one-time, mandatory and non-refundable fee, and is due once a place at the school has been offered and accepted. This includes both admission of a new student or of a student returning after one year or longer absence. This payment is not refunded if the application is withdrawn. The Building Fund is a one-time, mandatory and non-refundable fee, and is due once a place at the school has been offered and accepted. This includes both admission of a new student or a student returning after one year or longer. This fee is specifically designed for major building projects, land and/or property purchase, new construction, expansion and major infrastructure improvements. The Maintenance Fee is a mandatory contribution toward the infrastructure of the school, including furnishings, building maintenance, learning materials, etc. Tuition fees are mandatory and non-refundable. The tuition fee covers the cost of education and a range of school-provided services and materials, including: Instruction and classroom learning: School resources and instructional materials, Laboratory fees Daily essentials such as: Japanese textbooks Health check-ups Day field trips Any fee not specifically listed above is not covered by the tuition fee and may be charged separately. Each parent or guardian registering a student is responsible for the full payment of school fees. Parents/guardians are liable for all payments by the due date, regardless of whether a company assumes responsibility for all or part of the fees. Parents/guardians are responsible for all bank transaction fees and related charges. The English as an Additional Language Fee assists students in building a foundation of basic English skills. This is only applicable to students who need additional support to meet the standards of the mainstream classes. EAL Support Fee is required to be paid as long as the service is being received. If a student is admitted into the EAL program within the first 40 school days after they join HJIS, they will be charged a fixed amount of EAL service fee.
