Elementary School - PYP

Building the Foundations of Lifelong Learning

The Primary Years Programme (PYP) Grades 1 through 5 provides a vibrant learning environment where children are motivated to understand new ideas and issues while developing the foundational skills needed for academic achievement. Our program centers around innovative practices that stimulate and encourage learning, while nurturing students who are capable of taking meaningful action within and beyond the school community.

PYP students experience a curriculum that fosters the formation of new ideas and the unraveling of real-world challenges. Through authentic connections to their lives and the world around them, students learn to think critically, collaborate effectively, and develop resilience when faced with complex problems. We endeavor to bring our mission to life for our students to acquire the academic abilities and the social-emotional skills needed for an accomplished future in lifelong learning, one where they feel empowered to contribute positively to society.

By building upon a young child’s naturally inquisitive mind and offering a nurturing atmosphere, we consider the essential aspect to our students’ development is knowing each student as an individual and helping them develop independence, a readiness to take action, an opportunity to reflect upon their learning, and a lifelong appreciation for others. As students deepen their understanding of themselves and their responsibility toward their community, they learn that action can take many forms: from small acts of kindness to larger initiatives that demonstrate empathy, leadership, and a genuine commitment to making the world a better place.
