FAQ

This is the Frequently Asked Questions. Please feel free to inquire.

Q What kind of school can graduates go to after primary school?
Any public junior high school, private school or English immersion school can be their choice.
Q Can my child transfer to public school from Horizon in the middle of the year?
Yes. Our school is Japanese article 1 school, the same as other public schools.
There will be no problem transferring from Horizon to other public schools since we use the Japanese curriculum. We teach some subjects in English and other subjects in Japanese.
Though most other Japanese public schools teache subjects only in Japanese, our students should be able to understand what they're learning both in Japanese and English.
Q Does school give students homework? I'm worried about English homework since I'm not familiar with English.
We do have homework for students. The amount and/or difficulties are valid depending on the grade and subject. Homework should be something that a student can take care of himself/herself. We don't ask parents to help them to finish their homework.
Q School does not have a swimming pool. What is your plan for P.E. lesson?
School reserves private swimming facilities for P.E. lessons. We use our school bus for transportation.
Q What is the purpose of teaching a 2nd forein language?
There are many people who use various languages in the world. Though we use English as a main communication language with other people from various countries, it is important to experience various languages and cultures to develop international sense. At our school, Turkish is the main language we teach as the 2nd language.
Q Why do you teach Turkish as the second foreign language?
Here are the reasons why we decided to teach Turkish.
1. Turkey and Japan have a good relationship.
2. Turkey is a country where people from various cultures can meet.
3. The founder of our school is Turkish. This allows our school to offer high-level Turkish lessons to students.
Q Does students use English in daily school life?
The purpose of our "English Immersion Education" is not only to learn English, but also using English and Japanese depending on the situation and a person. Thus, students use English when they're talking with teachers from other countries and use Japanese when they talk with Japanese staff.
