This week was Literacy Week and the Primary Division enjoyed numerous activities and participated in several different literacy-based contests. Buddy Reading and DEAR (drop everything and read) time were highlights that occurred throughout the week. To cap off Literacy Week we had our annual Literacy Week Assembly where G1-G5 students crowded into the multipurpose room to view each other's storybook character costumes. There were many handmade costumes that looked tremendous so a big thank you to our families who put in this extra effort. The costume parade was followed by the PYP Skit Contest where students created short skits to demonstrate how to be better people based on the IB Learner Profiles. This was a very close contest with only 1 point dividing most of the grades. The event concluded with the presentation of the winners for all of the contests and some great sportsmanship by all to congratulate the winners. We will all look forward to next year's Literacy Week events. Great work Primary Division and to the teachers who organized an excellent week of activities.
